However package sans rpm group is considered valid. I wonder why fixing kernel rpm macros would however be responsibility of someone who made change to one of many kmp's, as bluntly requested in comment#9 . Furthermore
argument by omission ...or a grammar specification of rpm spec syntax that explains why rpm defines %group to %group. Why would that be argument by omission? Anyways noone owes you "grammar specification of rpm spec", not someone who removed them from kmp package. It has been decided that they are omitable, rpm/zypper/yast etc works fine with
