[Bug 1185282] New: AMD CCP module can't not load firmware in initrd
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1185282 Bug ID: 1185282 Summary: AMD CCP module can't not load firmware in initrd Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: jroedel@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- The AMD CCP module can load an updated SEV firmware into the platform security processor. This is needed on some systems to run SEV and/or SEV-ES KVM guests. The correct firmware is shipped in the kernel-firmware-platform packages, but it does not get included into the initrd, so that the PSP SEV firmware is not updated when the module is loaded. The reason is missing MODULE_FIRMWARE() annotations in the CCP module. There is an upstream fix available: https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/20210426081748.25419-1-joro@8bytes.org/T/#u -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
