[kernel-bugs] [Bug 1178203] New: sound is broken at 5.3.18-lp152.44-default with Steinberg UR22C card
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1178203 Bug ID: 1178203 Summary: sound is broken at 5.3.18-lp152.44-default with Steinberg UR22C card Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.2 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: matwey.kornilov@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hello, I am running openSUSE Leap 15.2 and found that recent update to kernel-default-5.3.18-lp152.44 introduced the following 100% reproducible issue with audio for me. pulseaudio-13.0-lp152.2.3.x86_64 I use external USB sound card Steinber UR22C card with the following device/vendor IDs: Bus 004 Device 003: ID 0499:172f Yamaha Corp. The device is handled by snd_usb_audio kernel module. Steps to reproduce: 1. Update to kernel-default-5.3.18-lp152.44 2. Run some YouTube video in Firefox MozillaFirefox-78.4.0-lp152.2.24.1.x86_64 3. Start Telegram Desktop from the recent flatpak package during the video play: # flatpak run org.telegram.desktop Actual result: At this moment, the sound hangs in the Firefox instance, both video and audio stop and YouTube UI became irresponsible (for instance, I cannot rewind the video in player). It feels like some sound sink call in FireFox is unexpectedly blocked for some reason. There is also no any sound in any other applications. I have not found a way to recover from this state, except restarting pulseaudio server. Expected result: Sound keeps playing during Telegram Desktop startup. I suppose that the issue may be related to https://github.com/openSUSE/kernel/commit/7c5b892e0871655fea3294ffac6fa3cc34... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
