OK, it sounds promising.

The kernel still contains a patch that hasn't been merged to the upstream, and I guess this must be now superfluous.

I'm building a test kernel without it in OBS home:tiwai:bsc1235020 repo. Once after the build finishes, it'll be available at

https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/tiwai:/bsc1235020/standard/

Could you try this one later, and test whether the problem doesn't reappear?
