Bug 202127 - cannot mount or create xfs on a 597T device
It sure looks like this problem, which may be a RAID controller firmware bug.
Indeed those issues are typical of faulty raid firmware bugs that pass erroneous geometry parameters to the upper software layers. Have you tried to diagnose similar to the bko#202127? So at least verify that the output of: blockdev --getsz --getsize64 --getss --getpbsz --getiomin --getioopt /dev/sdc and/or grep -r . /sys/block/sdc/queue are sane. Also please check the xfs_info of the failing filesystem. As the upstream ticket mentions, later xfs kernel releases have even more ways to detect problematic storage configurations, which is what you observe with 15.2 failing to mount. Again as upstream recommends, the solution is usually to either upgrade to the latest raid controller firmware, and if this doesn't fix the issue then overriding autodetection and manually specifying the proper sunit/swidth values at mkfs.xfs time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
