[kernel-bugs] [Bug 1172699] [Staging] Kernel 5.7 breaks test suite of tar and libarchive
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1172699 http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1172699#c1 Jiri Slaby <jslaby@suse.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hardware|i586 |x86-64 --- Comment #1 from Jiri Slaby <jslaby@suse.com> --- Hm, it's some setup thing. While it reproduces in osc shell environment, I cannot reproduce in a VM with that kernel installed, nor with a compiled kernel. Happens on x86_64 too. Switching to that as it's more common. I really love these issues. To be continued. What happens is that tar'ing of a sparse 8G file (512B at the end) creates a proper archive. Untar'ing (using xvf) creates a zeroed 512B file with the bad kernel (5.7). Good kernel untars to a proper 8G file, indeed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
