http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1198737 Bug ID: 1198737 Summary: Request: enable Epson RX8035 RTC driver Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: aarch64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: matt@traverse.com.au QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- The Traverse Ten64 board (aarch64, NXP LS1088A) has an EPSON RX-8035SA real time clock (via I2C). At the time of writing, neither Tumbleweed (kernel-default-5.17.2-1.1.aarch64) or Leap 15.x include the driver for this RTC. The RX-8035 is closely related to the Epson RX-8025. They are almost identical in regards to timekeeping but slight differences in the control registers means they are not 100% backward compatible. The RX-8035 has been supported by the mainline kernel since 5.15-rc1: https://patchwork.ozlabs.org/project/rtc-linux/patch/20210709044518.28769-2-... https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/f120e2e33ac8ba1adac4f59eaf1ae170530... Confusingly, some Epson devices are also supported by ds1307 (as the basic time registers are similar) but the control structure is very different, hence I submitted to rtc-rx8025 instead. The required configuration option is: CONFIG_RTC_DRV_RX8025=m -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
