Our DASD Developers have asked for the following information besides of dmesg:
Please also re-run the test while enabling zdev debug information (together with the -x change):
$ export ZDEV_DEBUG=1 $ bash -x dasd_configure ...
The interesting bit is the output for the chzdev case where dasd_configure hangs.
Also when the zdev process hangs, try the following command to display the current kernel call trace of all processes:
for i in /proc/[0-9]* ; do echo ; cat $i/comm ; cat $i/stack ; done
Could you please provide the requested information as separate text files?
