http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1195890 Bug ID: 1195890 Summary: Kernel 5.16.8 + nvidia binary driver breaks X11 on snapshot 20220212 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: Mathias.Homann@opensuse.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- After upgrading TW to 20220212 the graphical login is not working. The screen stays black, even though X and sddm are running. Booting 20220212 back to the previous available kernel (5.16.5 from 20220210) makes the system usable again. dmesg: https://susepaste.org/97532917 system journal: https://susepaste.org/23447210 Xorg.0.log: https://susepaste.org/44854097 hardware info: lemmy@kumiko:~> inxi -F System: Host: kumiko Kernel: 5.16.8-1-default x86_64 bits: 64 Console: pty pts/0 Distro: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20220212 Machine: Type: Desktop Mobo: ASRock model: Z97 Pro4 serial: <superuser required> UEFI: American Megatrends v: P2.60 date: 03/07/2018 CPU: Info: Quad Core model: Intel Core i7-4771 bits: 64 type: MT MCP cache: L2: 8 MiB Speed: 800 MHz min/max: 800/3900 MHz Core speeds (MHz): 1: 800 2: 796 3: 800 4: 801 5: 801 6: 800 7: 801 8: 801 Graphics: Device-1: NVIDIA GP107 [GeForce GTX 1050] driver: nvidia v: 510.47.03 Display: server: X.org 1.21.1.3 driver: loaded: modesetting, nouveau,nv,nvidia unloaded: fbdev, vesa tty: 163x58 Message: Advanced graphics data unavailable in console.
