http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1184650 Bug ID: 1184650 Summary: Kernel:HEAD should use tilde instead of dot/dash for version Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: lnussel@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Kernel:HEAD currently contains 5.12 RC7. That is translated to package version 5.12.rc7. In rpm terms that is newer than the final 5.12. Would be better to use tilde instead of a dot: $ zypper vcmp 5.12 5.12.rc7 5.12 is older than 5.12.rc7 $ zypper vcmp 5.12 5.12~rc7 5.12 is newer than 5.12~rc7 Slightly related, somewhere during build a dash is used instead of dot: $ osc rbl Kernel:HEAD kernel-default standard/x86_64|grep -i "invalid version" [ 4747s] warning: Invalid version (double separator '-'): 5.12.0-rc7-1.gbd61ada-default -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
