Ok. Makes sense. Just had a try and things look good so far.
A bit of warning. The links /usr/src/linux-obj/x86_64/default and /usr/src/linux always point to the latest *installed* development kernel (not to the "best" version). Which means they could point to "downrev" kernel after nvidia RPM has been installed. There is usually silent assumption that these links match the current running kernel (which is true for the normal sequence of updates). Arguably any package relying on validity of these links is already broken (as this very bug report demonstrates :) ).
