BTW, I still would like to know whether "mokutil --set-verbosity true" makes shim print more messages before the blank screen. I hope it could provide some hints to the blank screen.
The answer to this is no. Its possible something flashes between POST and the black screen of death, but it is on for only ~1 frame so its impossible to read. If its the BIOS, and no efi code is run, then there is nothing that could be done, but maybe any efi code should attempt to write some sort of simple diagnostics along the way (no matter what, it can be cleared if you get to a useful screen). Someone made a comment that my "BIOS may be broken". I wonder if that is true. If SecureBoot could not load anything one would think I would see a red message stating so. I have seen such a thing once or twice soon after I installed 15.2 (due to missing the MOK Manager page), but not that never happens. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
