The basic information (hwinfo and kernel dmesg outputs around the suspend/resume) would be helpful. At best, the kernel logs at the working case and non-working cases for comparison.
Usually when the kernel refuses to suspend, it shows some reasons (e.g. a USB device didn't go to the suspend state).
