Read this thread with interrest because my filtering is also having problems. After all the updates I am using Kmail 5.1.2 on my Tumbleweed. Kmail report
Woth a bug report?
Bug 969675 reported. You may add your experience or open a separate one against TW if applicable.
Cheers
Very sorry for my mistake. As for this bug, it was closed as resolved upstream. In fact it is known (I am even on the cc list) since about 3 years. The developer of opensuse recommends to use imap not pop (which in my case is not possible, but good to know). About reporting KDE bugs the comment was as follows (so I avoid you the loss of time): "Amd in the future, please report such problems directly upstream (if not reported already anyway). We only package KDEPIM, we do not develop it. And this is clearly no packaging bug." To avoid you further loss of time, I did so in the past to KDE and either nothing happens (in this case for about 3 years) and secondly: I was send to downstream for several bugs. My advice at this point would be: why bother reporting bugs if this political war goes on. I will just do continue send in popup reports of dr konqui (if not broken as it happens sometimes) and leave it there. Of course you can try you luck (besides I cannot even report this to KDE as KDE4 bugs are closed as wontfix because out of support). (comes to my mind that they could raise the version to plasma to 6 and declare all the bugs of 5 as closed. Would be a fast solution). This is no "political war". But KDE's developers cannot fix bugs in the distributions. And OTOH, the (handfull of) packagers cannot fix all the bugs that are in KDE's software due to lack of time and/or skill. The upstream developer(s) know best how their software is structured/works, OTOH they probably know next to nothing about how to create packages for openSUSE or how the openSUSE packages are split up e.g. Just to be clear here: We (the distribution packagers) depend on upstream for creating the software (and fixing bugs), while they just as well depend on us to bring their software to the users. And btw, openSUSE's KDE packagers are actually involved upstream too.

Yeah, right. Or they could just drop the whole project and not create any software at all any more. Would be even faster and more easy... And now let's please start getting serious again. ;-) Kind Regards, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
