The first simple aim is wallpapers. * There are concerns that this will negatively affect openSUSE branding (e.g. the same wallpaper on any openSUSE desktop, or not fitting with the bootsplash). Also, based on past experience, there are concerns that upstream KDE artists will be overly strict about adherence to their style (e.g. the default decoration on 11.1 having to be renamed 'Ozone'). * We need to find out what openSUSE management thinks about this and the branding for 11.2 * AI: find out about branding, upstream vs openSUSE (wstephenson) * When the branding situation is clear, we will follow up also by discussion and deciding on other look defaults for 11.2 (window decoration, plasma theme, etc.) == KDE4 and Performance == * There is a discussion on -factory about improving performance of openSUSE 11.2 . Are there any plans for KDE4? * There has been much work done on improving KDE4's performance as a whole, only some limited areas. Desktop stability and working features are more important than improving performance. * Also, there are no known good benchmarks for KDE4, so before any performance work can start, it first needs to be more precisely found out what the problems are. * Therefore, people interested in KDE4's performance need to first provide data about what needs to be improved. == Binding Win key to the Application Menu == * Past experience has shown that it is technically very difficult to have a key working as both a global shortcut and a modifier. Therefore, assigning Win key to the menu would mean disabling it as a modifier. == Action Items == * add packaging guideline for kde4 packages (wstephenson) * figure out license repo dialogs and other ways how to notify the users about our bug reports policy (wstephenson) * put together a howto for cross distribution packaging of kde applications (bittin`) * post your favorite screenshots (as proposals for 11.2 defaults) for each topic here [[KDE/Meetings/CommunityWeek2009/DefaultDesktop11_2]] (everyone) * drop katalog, hk_classes, knoda from 11.2 (llunak) * find out about branding, upstream vs openSUSE (wstephenson) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
