KMail will not filter on an IMAP server. It expects that if you are using an IMAP server that you can do server side filtering to put message in the correct folder. I am running the Cyrus IMAP server and using sieve to do filtering into the proper folders and that works reasonably well. The real downside of that is that you also can't use group scheduling with Korganizer properly. You can't auto-filter messages for appointments properly. There are other issues depending upon which version of KMail you are using. You can search the archives of this list to find which ones are hanging around. -- Kelly L.
