[opensuse-kde] Can I have different panels in different activities?
Hi, I'm using openSUSE Leap 42.1 with KDE Frameworks. I would like to have a launcher containing the applications relevant to the activity. At the moment I have a panel on the left side of the screen with the QuickLaunch widget, but it is the same in each activity. What's the best way to have a different subset of programs available to launch in each activity? Yes ;-)

Have a look in "Settings -> SystemSettings -> Monitor" -- mit freundlichen Grüßen / best regards, Günther J. Niederwimmer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

The only reference to "Monitor" I can find in System Settings is "Display and Monitor", which contains 3 entries: "Display Configuration", "Compositor" and "Gamma", none of which has anything to do with Activities. Or am I being exceptionally thick? Thanks Bob -- Bob Williams System: Linux 4.1.20-11-default Distro: openSUSE 42.1 (x86_64) Desktop: KDE Frameworks: 5.21.0, Qt: 5.5.1 and Plasma:

No. It is not possible to have different panels in different activities. You only can have different panels on different screens on a multi-monitor setup I think (that's probably what Günther Nimmerwimmer was pointing at...). You can have different plasmoids on the desktop though, that's one of the main points of activities. I understand that's not what you want. But: the folderview plasmoid can be configured to only show files associated with the current activity. So adding that to your panel might do what you want. You can link files to a certain activity by right-clicking on them in dolphin or folderview via the "Activities" submenu. (the "Link files to Activities" plugin has to be activated for this, but it should be by default) Kind Regards, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Thank you. I'll play around with Folder View; it sounds as though it will do what I want. Regards Bob -- Bob Williams System: Linux 4.1.20-11-default Distro: openSUSE 42.1 (x86_64) Desktop: KDE Frameworks: 5.21.0, Qt: 5.5.1 and Plasma:
