[opensuse-kde] KDE 4.6 in KDE:Distro:Factory
As previously announced, with the start of the KDE 4.6 release cycle, we have shifted the codebase in KDE:Distro:Factory in the openSUSE Build Service to KDE 4.6beta1. That means if you want to continue to use KDE 4.5 and have not yet done so, you have a matter of hours to switch your repositories to KDE:Release:45, where stable KDE 4.5 releases will be provided for the medium term. Otherwise you're joining us for the 4.6 stabilisation ride! i've been trying out 4.5.6 from the unstable repo in openSUSE factory (11.4), and didn't notice any major hangups yet. i haven't set up my mail stuff on the test environment yet; that's some major changes i believe, kmail and some or even all other PIM apps going akonadi. when kmail2, etc., was published in it's own mini-repo, all affected apps stored data in separate files & directories, to provide an easy downgrade path for those who wanted to try. i doubt this is the approach now; doesn't make sense within a full KDE 4.6 environment. have to make sure my KDE 4.5 / oS 11.3 remains operational -- phani. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
