konqueror after upgrade
Hi I was using KDE 3.1.1 on my SuSE 8.1 box installed from the KDE.org and everything was OK. This morning I decided to upgrade the KDE packages to those available on SuSE's homepage. The installation (rpm -Fvh *.rpm) was OK, but now konqueror does not display anymore some web pages like www.suse.de. I remember that I had this problem also before using the packages from the KDE.org site, could somebody give me a hint to what is the problem here? Some bugs in SuSE's packages? Did someone else noticed this?
Hi Ovidiu! I have begun to notice the same problem! Only in less than 10% of the pages but the SuSEs pages (.de & .com) is unfortunately among them! Did you solve this problem? /Tomas but now konqueror does not display anymore some web pages like

Did someone else noticed this? Hi Unfortunately not, and it seems that also SuSE 8.2 Pro (kde 3.1.1) is touched by the problem. I do not have experience in programming but I suppose the bug is somewhere in suse's packages. You may try the kde packages built for suse from the www.kde.org page (for 8.1 for me it solved the problem before upgrading). good luck!
Hello Do you believe in miracles? Or is just software that rocks? As I wrote yesterday I had problems with konqueror displaying some pages in SuSE 8.2. This morning when I arrived at office I had the pleasant surprise to see that suse's homepage is correctly displayed (and some other which had problems before too). Is this a miracle or this SuSEwatcher rocks? On Thursday 03 April 2003 16:05, ovidiu pascui wrote:

Tomas, I'll post this as a solution to your problem as well as to my own questions earlier. I have solved all the nagging little bugs I found after updating to KDE 3.1.1 from SuSE's ftp. I might mention also that using the files from kde.org did not cure my problems. I must give credit to Steven Hatton as the solution actually came from him and it does work. You must compile both qt3 & kdelibs3 from the source rpms from SuSE's site to get things working smoothly. After finishing this morning with that and installing the resulting rpm files that are generated, I have no problems with any sites in Konq, nor display bugs or printing bugs. There is still a problem using CUPS as your selected print facility in kprinter, but that is easily fixed by changing it to Generic Unix.
