You forgot to mention which editor you are using. Assuming you are talking of kate, open the kate settings dialog from the menu, in the tree to the left select Editor->open/save, clear the field "local files" in the lower section of the window. I don't know how all the menu items etc are named in english since I use german localization, but I think the above should make it obvious. Mario
