KDE Menu Editor doesn't work in SuSE 9.0
Hi, can anyone tell me how do add or remove applications, icons and groups in the KDE Menu? As SuSE Support told me, the KDE Menu Editor doesnt work any more in SuSE 9.0, which I just installed on my Notebook. Unfortunately they didnt give me any further information because my question is not related to the installation support I have purchased along with the distribution. As a Linux-newbie I get a bit lost in the directories and configuration files (and also in the archive of this list), so please forgive me if this may be a stupid or an already answered question. Hello Thomas! Step 1. Edit your K menu. Step 2. Try to delete the file named "ksycoca" in the undernamed folder: "~/.kde/tmp-*/" (this is a HIDDEN subfolder in your "/home/*/" folder, where the "*" means your username). Step 3. Relogin into the KDE. IMPORTANT: Each of your K menu editing intervention must be followed by your relogin into the KDE! I only need this workaround to activate new/unused program folders. If the folder already was there, kmenuedit works fine here. Regards, Kai
