[opensuse-kde] KDE live cd installation partly English in a non-English environment
Hi there, there seem to be a problem with the KDE Live CD using a different language than English. When I installed openSUSE 12.1 (btw: I had the same problem in 11.4) using the KDE Live CD with German as language, I've got a partly English system Widgets, YaST and some programs. Today a friend found out, if he runs "zypper dup" he gets a few hundret packages to update and none with "zypper up". So I tried it in a virtual machine and "zypper dup" fixed the problem. So, I wanted to make the problem and it's solution public so 12.2 can be free of this bug. :) Am I right here to reach the one(s) who is/are responsible for the KDE Live CD? For German users I already created a Wiki article → http://de.opensuse.org/Kategorie:SDB:KDE-Live_Sprachausgabe_korrigieren I'll translate to English in the next hour. DVD does not contain such an issue cause of pretty much bigger size =) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, it happens for non-english/non-german languages, since LiveCD localizations are not complete. DVD does not contain such an issue cause of pretty much bigger size =) But it doesn't install them from the net, even if you set the system language to English and back again.
Additonally it suprises me, that "zypper dup" provides so much more updates than normal "zypper up". Why does it do that? How should those installations ever receive any update when their system is somehow stuck? I didn't try it out with an English installation yet, but I'll do. Greetings, Stephan I've just test it with partly success: Some labels are not German that were English before but there are still some labels that are English.
