DigiKam 2.2 from KUA installs and runs fine on my 11.4. Are you sure you're not mixing incompatible repos? Paste your 'zypper lr -u' output please. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

also zypper se -is digikam and zypper se -is kipi may offer good info Alin -- Without Questions there are no Answers! ______________________________________________________________________ Alin Marin ELENA Advanced Molecular Simulation Research Laboratory School of Physics, University College Dublin ---- Ardionsamblú Móilíneach Saotharlann Taighde Scoil na Fisice, An Coláiste Ollscoile, Baile Átha Cliath ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://alin.elenaworld.net ______________________________________________________________________

seems as if it is an issue with libkipi8 - digikam 2.2 works for instance with libkipi8 4.4.5-505.1 (from KDE Update Apps). Using 4.6.5-11.6 yields the error. Chris On Monday 10 Oct 2011 17:29:26 Alin Marin Elena wrote:

It seems that somehow the old string for version remained in KUA misleading the update process... libkdcraw20 libkipi8 libkexiv2-10 shall come from that repo not from other repos. check it in versions in yast. once the correct version string is determined we will update it. you may get some message about wrong version for some other packages... just ignore it. Yeah. I found the same thing. So for now it works as a workaround to "downgrade" to that version of libkipi8. Gwenview dependencies will complain about the downgrade, but the warning can be ignored it seems. I'll poke Raymond to see if the packages can be fixed in a more sustainable way. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Raymond already fixed the issue. And new packages are building. One way to avoid these sort of issues going forward is to use 'zypper dup -- from <kua>' when updating, or to use "switch packages in this repository..." in the YaST repositories view. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
