[opensuse-kde] Removed desktop plasma
Hi guys I was trying to delete an extra panel I was trying out but accentually got deleted the desktop plasma (don't know the correct word for it). A screen shot of what I have deleted is here: http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.3/images/kde430-desktop.png It's in the far back and called Desktop - how do I create this again? Thanks in advance. -- Venlig hilsen / Best regards Allan Dreyer Andersen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

It is a folderview widget. Right-click on the desktop, click "Add Widgets", find folderview or folder view in the window that pops up, and drag it to the desktop. Note that it doesn't have to show the desktop folder, it can show any folder on your computer, as well as network folders and other various things. You can also have more than one of them pointing to different folders, resize the contents, change which files show previews, hide certain sorts of file, and many other things. You can also resize it. I would look through the widgets available, there are many useful ones installed by default. -Todd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

The easy way is to just drag the folder from eg Dolphin (or any other file manager with more UI than mc) to the desktop and select "folder view" on drop. The folder used for this by default is $HOME/Desktop. Hi Todd Just noticed that I send to you private - so here it goes to the list. Thanks so much - it was exactly what I needed. And because of your explanation I choose something else than my Desktop - didn't know this could be changed. Think also I have to look at what other widgets can chosen. Thanks again. -- Venlig hilsen / Best regards Allan Dreyer Andersen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

The really cool features are just coming, for example have a Folder View always showing the files you touched yesterday, using the timeline ioslave. URL: timeline:/today/?relDays=-1. (Usual disclaimer about working Nepomuk applies ;)) Will -- Will Stephenson, openSUSE Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH - Nürnberg - AG Nürnberg - HRB 16746 - GF: Markus Rex -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
