[opensuse-kde] What happened to the link to device submenu in Plasma 5?

Hi, When I right-click on an empty section in Dolphin and select "Link to Device" it appears to be disabled in Plasma 5.8.3. -- Cheers! Roman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

The "Link to Device" entries have been removed in KF5, because the developers thought they don't make sense any more nowadays. Nothing new in Plasma 5.8.3, and unrelated to Plasma anyway. Ok. Good to know. They should completely remove the entire line to avoid confusion. -- Cheers! Roman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, the submenu should probably be hidden if there are no entries. Feel free to file a bug report at http://bugs.kde.org/ (component frameworks- kio) about this if there isn't one already. Btw, only the templates have been removed, the functionality itself should still be there. So if you do want to have those entries, you could copy them over from KDE4. They should be in /usr/share/kde4/templates/ and need to be in /usr/share/templates (or ~/.local/share/templates/) for KF5. Each one consists of a linkXXX.desktop file and a corresponding XXX(- Device).desktop file in the .source subfolder. Thanks Wolfgang. It’s worth checking it out - just to see if it can still work. Roman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
