Re: [suse-kde] How smooth is the KDE update from the "supplementary branch"?
Can someone please translate this to English so the rest of us could benefit from the instructions. Thanks, Keith Randall R Schulz <rschulz@sonic.net> wrote:

awkward now, before updating the GTK/Gnome apps used the Geramik theme, now all apps have an oldfashioned GTK1 look, i guess there must have been something broken... any hints? Have you seen this with SuSE 9.1?
I'm trying to figure out exactly what those commands are doing - Anyone care to translate this into English? (especially what "neu anmelten" is -- I did the first 3 commands (assuming it meant to add the includes to the .gtk* files) but Firefox/Mozilla/Gnome apps still have a plain theme...
It's "anmelden", not "anmelten." It means "new login".
I'm happy to report that following these instructions _finally_ gets my Gnome application appearance under KDE back to what it was without any untoward effects on KDE (applications) itself.
Thank you, Thomas!

German from the Web page: "Gnome-Applikationen verwenden nicht mehr automatisch den Geramik-Look nach dem Upgrade auf KDE 3.3.x. Eine mögliche Lösung:" Babel Fish translation: "Gnome applications do not use any longer automatically the Geramik Look after the Upgrade on KDE 3.3.x. A possible solution:" Ordinary English: "Gnome applications no longer automatically use the Geramik look after the upgrade on KDE 3.3.x. A possible solution:" Randall Schulz
