Hi Group, - I used to enable remote X-sessions in SuSE9 by editing /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager in order to allow a client to remotely log into the machine using X. - now, since 9.1, SuSE's changed that, port 6000+n is closed all according to the release note. - I tried to edit /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager as outlined in the release note (and restart), but when I do "X :1 -query NNN.NNN.NNN.NNN" on a client I get a fine X display,- but no login.... Any hints are greatly appreciated! -- ------------------------------- Med venlig hilsen/Best regards Verner Kjærsgaard Open Source Academy +45 5696 4223 www.os-academy.dk -------------------------------

Oooops, I'm sorry. I just remembered... In order for the remote X-sessions to work, one must also edit (on the server) /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc around the Xdmcp section. Enable Xdmcp should be true and the Port number should (?) be uncommented. Best regards, Verner K.
