Hi! How can one export Konqueror bookmarks to html file? I found how to export the bookmarks to .xml but the file created is not readable easily: for example Mozilla displays a message like this: ' This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.' ty /radu

Export to mozilla, you end up with a fairly good looking list. Don't worry that it looks for a filename ending with .mozilla, just name it whatever.html. -- del suse-kde

Thanks for your reply! Well... I figured out this work around by myself. But I was trying to export to a simple html in order to move my bookmarks between my laptop at home and my M$ workstation at work and the Solaris workstation at the university and willing to make this backup process as simple as possible. I know that .xml 'is the future' but maybe export to .html should be available, too? Especially as the various browsers seem to handle the files differently. br /radu

You'll have problems with importing to IE6 and some of the later "upgrades" to 5.5. Work around for that would be to have the exported list as the start page or as the first bookmark. You'll see what I mean when you've tried to import. ;-) -- del suse-kde

How can one export Konqueror bookmarks to html file?
Konqi uses the standard XBEL format. You can convert it to other bookmark formats and HTML using this program: http://www2.fht-esslingen.de/~clfuit00/sasnt/bk_edit/ Charles -- "Are [Linux users] lemmings collectively jumping off of the cliff of reliable, well-engineered commercial software?" It is a gtk 1.2.x program. You need these installed: ftp://ftp-linux.cc.gatech.edu/pub/suse/suse/i386/8.2/suse/i586/glib-1.2.10-372.i586.rpm ftp://ftp-linux.cc.gatech.edu/pub/suse/suse/i386/8.2/suse/i586/glib-devel-1.2.10-372.i586.rpm ftp://ftp-linux.cc.gatech.edu/pub/suse/suse/i386/8.2/suse/i586/gtk-1.2.10-556.i586.rpm ftp://ftp-linux.cc.gatech.edu/pub/suse/suse/i386/8.2/suse/i586/gtk-devel-1.2.10-556.i586.rpm or equivalent if you are not on an ix86 system.
