kmail and inline image viewing
Hi, I am using KDE 3.4 (Level b) on Suse 9.1. I use Kmail as my email client. I have selected to display images as inline by clicking on View->Attachments->Inline. However when I get emails with multiple images, there is empty space (of appropriate size) where an image should be. All images are displayed at the end of the email. Anyone know how to fix this? thanks, -- Osho
Hi, this is a known bug. Want to join the list of voters? Go here: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6710 As you observe, KMail handles inline images *exactly* the same way as attachments are handled, i.e. shows them at the end of your mail. In the case of an HTML mail with inline images (i.e. multipart/related), this is of course not what you would expect from a decent 21st century mail client. <rant> Sorry for the pun, i *really* appreciate all the hard work that the KMail developers accomplish. Somehow this bug has been trodden upon by too many people who say "What the f**k are HTML mails good for anyway?" Now you probably note the thin difference in my pun: It is not directed against the developers but against all these geeks who love to get their points across with ASCII art which is fine with me if they do it but i'm getting severely annoyed if they start to use their own preference to tell other people how to use e-mail. </rant> Robert
