No. It's: Phone Jack <=Phone cord=> DSL Modem <=Cat5=> Router <=Cat5=> PC
Hi again, Billie... too many questions, yet, and I've run out of time tonight... oh well. Check to see if your dsl modem doesn't also actually have a router built into it. Read the modem manual (should be available online if you didn't get one from your provider.) If it does have an internal router, try using the external router strictly like a hub (no monkeying with the ip addresses or traffic.)
