[opensuse-kde] Online update to 4.3.5
The official update to kde 4.3.5 is now in the update test repo ( http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.2-test/ ) I downgraded my kde to 4.3.1 to test it. As I had feared kupdateapplet barfed and went crazy with an estimated 150-200 error messages about dbus not being able to get transaction id from packagekit. However 'zypper patch' installed the update nice and neat. I wonder if anyone has been able to install the update succesfully with kupdateapplet. Otherwise, we should probably be prepared for a lot of people having problems and recommend people to install the update with zypper. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

My first job is to remove kdeupdateapplet and packagekit related stuf (they don't work for me) zypper rocks and do the job, so I say bye bye packagekitty :-) -- Bruno Friedmann -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

I can confirm this, bug#580529. And it actually appears even kupdateapplet is successful with the update, it is just a horrible experience and could lead some users to do something wrong such as abort the update halfway. So the update is blocked for now again. -- Lubos Lunak openSUSE Boosters team, KDE developer l.lunak@suse.cz , l.lunak@kde.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
