[opensuse-kde] kdm added to minimal X 42.2 installs 67 packages, requires gstreamer&&&
That seems like an awful lot of stuff just to get a greeter that's fully configurable. Are these really _required_ of a login-manager/greeter?: sound (gstreamer, gstreamer-plugins-base, libpuls*) spell checker (hunspell, libaspell15) PIM support (libakonadi*) activities (libkactivities6) libQtWebKit4 ??? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." No, And the kdm package itself doesn't require those packages. But kdebase4-runtime does, which is pulled in by *every* KDE4 application, including kdm. These dependencies haven't been changed in years, btw...
