[opensuse-kde] Reduce memory usage of the mysql server launched by akonadi
Hello, If I disable the perfomance schema with [mysqld] performance_schema=OFF in ~/.config/akonadi/mysql-local.conf, then the mysqld process reduces its memory usage by roughly 1/2, with no ill effect as far as I can see. Should I prepare a patch for this? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

You should discuss this first with upstream, I think. Best is to drop a mail to kde-pim@kde.org. -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: A29D259B

According to the documentation, performance_schema is off by default in mysql [1] and in recent mariadb versions [2] Unless you still use openSUSE 13.1 *and* MariaDB, adding this setting should have no effect (except raising the minimum MySQL version from 5.1.3 to 5.5.3). You're right. I had disabled the schema in 13.1, then forgot that in 13.2 it is disabled by default.
