[opensuse-kde] status of plasmoid-networkmanager & NM in KDF + openSUSE Factory
I use opensuse_Factory and KDF, my network is setup to be managed by networkmanager and I've full ipv4 and ipv6 network connectivity. I had this same problem after clean installing 11.4 (but not noticed until after installing Tumbleweed and various other repos.). I fixed it by going to YaST → Network Devices (or whatever it's called) and on the first tab there's a option between traditional network management and NetworkManager. For some reason it's set to 'traditional' so you need to set it to NetworkManager. Why it is set this way, I do not know. I thought the default was changed several openSUSE versions ago. Hope this helps. -- Matt Williams http://milliams.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

wstephenson gave the following status on IRC a couple of days ago: <wstephenson> so the news on NM 0.9 support is: i have written a NM 0.9 libnm- qt that will replace solid::control::network* <wstephenson> and am now porting [KP]NM to use it <cb400f> is there an ETA on a somewhat usable plasmoid for nm 0.9? .. a lot of these people installing gnome3 along kde have been asking for it <wstephenson> this week or next So I guess that means use gnomer nm-applet for at least a week or two until there's a plasmoid which is worth testing. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Thx Martin, I've seen that I was hoping the week was done :-) Seems I've to wait a bit more . -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Ambassador GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Sorry Bruno, I've been too busy boosting at LinuxTag to hack on it during the evenings. Will -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

I understand that. That's why I wouldn't open a real bug report actually. Happy Boosting, we need that, so we will have several more kde hackers to help you in those kind of mission. During the next week, I can survive like that, or use cnetworkmanager if needed for wifi. I've digged a bit with qdbusviewer to check if I can just launch my vpn connections. Seems not or didn't find it. But I also can launch them by full command line. Afterall, this is factory life :-) Anyway when you are ready, and want feedback about ipv6 just ping6 :-) -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Ambassador GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
