[opensuse-kde] KDE Bugzilla Components and Bugday
Hello, it's still my task to start a discussion here about bug report handling :-)... It seems the desktop department bug days will concentrate on cleaning up NLD9 and SLED10 bug reports only (which are non-public within Bugzilla why ever) - so the question is if interest exists to have a Community KDE Bugscreening day for openSUSE bugs and which day and time would have the most acceptance? In the meeting last December we talked about having new components within Bugzilla to differ between KDE3 and KDE4 bug reports, latter now flooding us. The proposal was to have KDE3 KDE Platform KDE Desktop KDE Applications Any opinions about that, does it sound like a good idea? :-) Bye, Steve --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

It might be slightly confusing distinguishing between what goes under desktop and what goes under apps. Is desktop plasma+kwin and what else? I assume these components would only cover factory+official releases, how about adding a component (or two) for filing reports against the unsupported packages on OBS? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Desktop/workspace is plasma+kwin+kdm+everything else in kdebase4-workspace basically everything you don't run when using KDE apps under other desktop.

Why do we need project-specific category for that, isn't openSUSE.org/3rd party software not sufficient to file entries against maintainers there? If you want to follow the upstream terms it should rather be KDE Workspace instead of KDE Desktop. Fine for me, I just recapped Dirk's suggestion. :-) Bye, Steve --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

KDE3 KDE KDE Apps KDE Buildservice would be my proposal. where the "KDE Apps" means basically anything not central to the desktop (so the collection of all applications we package from somewhere for some reason) and Buildservice would be issues specific to the packages provided in the buildservice, in order to improve the user experience of "I've fixed your issue, but I'll still mark this bugreport as INVALID". I don't think we want to push down the platform/desktop/apps distinguishment to the users. -- RPMLINT information under http://en.opensuse.org/Packaging/RpmLint --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Following up the discussion in yesterday's meeting Bugzilla has now for 11.0 KDE3 KDE4 Applications KDE4 Workspace as components (the latter also including the KDE4 libraries bug reports).
