[opensuse-kde] KDE Advisory Board meeting
Hello, Next Monday the first meeting of the KDE Advisory Board will be held. As the openSUSE representative, I'd like to know if there's any issue you might want me to raise at that meeting. Right now, I have a small list: - The collaboration for the release schedules changes was very valuable and it allowed us to provide Plasma 5.8.2 in Leap 42.2. We hope that collaboration continues in the future. - There have been mentions of Plasma 5.9 probably requiring Qt 5.7 . I will try to let them know that leaving LTS requirements (Qt 5.6.x) is in our opinion a bad choice. I'm nevertheless unsure of how this will affect us in Leap, since I don't think Plasma major release updates will be anyway released as Leap updates. - I'll point out that it would be beneficial for us if requirements in KDE software would be specified per-package, instead of per-release. So packages can be updated independently instead of having to upgrade for example, all KDE Framework packages at the same time for every bugfix release (when some of the packages don't have any change). I'm preparing a script to make it easier for us to read cmake package version dependencies and update semi-automatically our spec files (more on that next week, probably). - I'll offer them to use openQA. I'll mention that we already have Krypton tests which test the latest builds from KDE's git versions and they can use that to check regressions and improve KDE. Anything else you can think that would be interesting to request/offer to the KDE project?
