[opensuse-kde] Problem with phonon in oS 11.4
Hi all, after performing a clean install on a lenovo S10e netbook, I'm experiencing strange behavior of the sound system. Certain parts of the sound system seem to work ok: * sound card configuration in Yast nicely configures the (Intel 82801G) sound card * the pulse audio tools show appropriate devices * playing ogg or mp3 files with kaffeine works * kmix can control volume (for kaffeine output) just nicely On the other hand: * amarok just hangs on startup (hanging withein "initializing phonon") * if in "configure desktop" I select Multimedia -> Phonon, it just stays in "waiting for gui to appear" mode. * starting the phpnpn settings via "kcmshell4 kcm_phonon" displays one error message and then hangs The error message is: (kcmshell4:5837): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_debug_add_log_function: assertion `func != NULL' failed The problem occurs with KDE 4.6.0 as well as 4.6.1 On the same netbook, the oS11.3 installation had been working just fine. On a different laptop, oS 11.4 also just works. The error message mentioned, happens to appear within thw working installation as well, so I would guess this one is not part of the problem. Any clues / tips where I could do further research?
