Running KDE3 on SuSE8.0, after a while (minutes to hours) the KDE bar becomes unresponsive - the first symptom of this is the seconds "tick" on the clock becomes erratic. At this point using CTL+ALT+Fn to swap to a "console" can take more than a minute. kdeinit kicker is taking over 99% of the CPU and consuming a large amount of memory. Switching back to the X-session also takes a long time and the bar takes many minutes to redraw itself (if it does completely redraw.) I have applied all the updates offered by YOU and installed all of the updated packages from the supplementary directory (to May 1) with no effect.
