Hello, where can I configure how applets dock into the kicker bar? For every new applet kicker opens a new section (with devider and arrow). Existing applets, e.g kmix and klipper appear in a common section without devider. I would like to have applets (at least some of them like clock and logout) in just one section together with the kmix and klipper icon (with only one devider i.e between task bar and my section). Where can I configure that behaviour or do I have to change the .desktop files? If so. how? cu Stefan

-Stefan Just left-click on one of the arrows and you can move applets where ever you want. HTH Greetings from /bill at 169 west , 19 south. My holy cow is a penguin.-

Hi Bill, thanks for the note. You are right. The left klick and moving works. Unfortunately the applet is moved including the arrow. I would like to make an applet part of another group of applets. E.g. klipper and kmix are two applets but sharing a single arrow and within appear on a common area in the kicker section. Is there an option in the corresponding .desktop files where I can tell the applet _not_ to come up with an additional seperator/arrow? Right now I am wasting space on my panel just for seperators. Thanks Stefan

Not on my system. I don't use kmix but called it up just to find out where it would appear and it was next to kinternet. and kshowmail . (in the same box, no arrow came up). I have <<lockscreen and logout>> with an arrow. Then klipper, with an arrow. next kinternet and kshowmail with arrow. date and time and 4 ind icons with one arrow. Any help?

That shows that there are more applets than kmix and klipper, i.e kinternet and kshowmail, which can share arrows by using the same section. It would be nice if sombodey knows how to 'convince' other alpplets to do the same and sit next to another applet with no arrow between them. cu Stefan

I think, Klipper, Kmix and the other icons (e.g. Kopete) aren't any applets. They are just icons in the system-tray. HTH Armin

Hi Stefan, Hi Bill,
Hello Armin, thanks for the information. I just learned that a couple of hours ago :-). Here is what I got as PM from Leendert this morning: <snip> Perhaps this clarifies things a bit: kmix, klipper, and kinternet etc. are _applications_ that can dock into the System tray _applet_. No other _applets_ will dock there. What Bill perhaps means is: a) grouping of applets, so they use one applet handle or b) more System Tray applets, and the ability to move docked applications from one tray to the other Cheers, Leen </snap> It still would be interesting if one could run applets in the applets 'system tray' as well or combine several applets to one group with maximum one arrow and handle. cu Stefan
