[opensuse-kde] can't rename my desktops
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi everyone, first please excuse me if I use the wrong names for some items, I'm using the germanized version of KDE and maybe there are other names for the objects than those I use. To my problem: I chose to have the names of the four virtual desktops shown on the desktop switcher. Therefore, I named them "Shell", "Mail", "Web", and "Others", respectively. During this session, they showed up and everything was fine. But after logging out and in again, the standard names ware back. Since it is not "DeskX" like in English, but "Arbeitsfläche X" in German, the desktop switcher takes a lot of space in the bar :-(. I renamed again, logged out, logged in, again the defaults. Bad. So I used Strg-Alt-F3, logged in via console, edited the [Desktops] section of ~/.kde4/share/config/kwinrc. The text was there, fine. I logged out, switched back to the KDE greeter and logged in there. And - "Arbeitsfläche X". I looked at the just edited file, and the entries I made via console were empty again. I'm using KDE 4.6.3 from the KDE:Release:46 repos. Anyone else with this problem? Or - even better :-) - does anyone know a workaround? Deleting the cache is something I already did... I have the same problem. However, I wasn't able to find a workaround. But, I'm still looking into this anomaly. In the meantime, I would highly recommend you submit a bug report with Bugzilla. -- Cheers! Thanks for telling me that I'm not the only one :-( I planned to submit a bug - but not if I'm the only one, because this might just be a misconfiguration :-] Thanks for your feedback, I try to submit a bug tomorrow.
