[opensuse-kde] Strange new Behaviour in K3B
I noticed after a recent K3B update that now, after burning a CD, after the burning was completed, but before K3B did verification, that it ejected the CD, and then complained about not finding the disk. Reinserting the CD would allow it to finish the disk. I'm using K3B 0.12.14 with KDE 3.5.111 Level "a" Suse 10.1 on my laptop. I also tried this out on my desktop at home. There it ejects the CD and then pulls it back in and does the verification, and then ejects it again. The problem with this behaviour is that the laptop has no mechanism to pull the CD back in again - it's strictly a manual operation where you push it closed. So It hangs in the middle of burning unless you babysit it. The second annoyance is that when you push it back in, Suse thinks you've inserted a different CD and pops up a message asking you what you want to do. Have you compared the k3b-configuration files? IIRC there is an option not to eject after burning.

Stop Suse doing that, or k3b ejecting media after burning. OJ - -- "Mit Adressfälschern zu diskutieren ist ähnlich ergiebig wie die Diskussion mit einer Strassenlaterne. I went looking again, and found it. Thanks!

Yes, setting this parameter should fix it. Thanks again, Bob -- bob@rsmits.ca --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Is this the latest version of K3b for 10.1? I am using 10.2 and my k3b version is k3b-1.0.1-6.1. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

You are right. I too was surprised at the version Robert listed as even 0.12.17 has been available for a long time. The k3b guys finally went to a 1.x version and many of us have been happily using it for a while now. Remember also, you may need to update your build of cdrtools and dvd burning software, if you decide to move to the new one. regards, Lee --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

It happens that the version used on the laptop is 1.0, the version on the desktop is 0.12.14 . I guess the difference is that I installed 10.1 on the desktop last fall, and on the laptop last month. I mistakenly thought I was running the same version on both my desktop and laptop computers. I'm really running 1.0. Configuring it to not eject after burning should fix it. (In the advanced settings).
