with Suse 9.0 on a newer, fast desktop system, I get the following message in the browser window when trying to open a new browser tab, during which time (for about 5 seconds) I can hear the hard drive looking for something: " An error occured while loading about:blank: Could not start process Unable to create io-slave: klauncher said: Error loading 'kio_about'." I have a home page specified which comes up on starting the program, but not on subsequent tabs. I also hear this same hard drive searching sound when I am first logging in at KDM and it says "checking system settings" while waiting way too long to complete that task also (40 seconds). I have a slow laptop runnig suse 9.0 and it doesn't exhibit either of these problems. Any ideas.
