[opensuse-kde] Artwork in accordance with new colorscheme
Hi there. A couple of days ago I've sent you an example of a breeze icon set folder recolored to match the new openSUSE colorscheme. Now, I've done the same with Nitrux icons + I've changed the oxygen colorscheme also. Here's a few screens for you to see how it looks in practice. Ken and Zvezdana, what do you think about it? As far as I could notice, the plasma 5 colorscheme and themes have been already done, but the breeze folders are default. I could recolor them to fit our colorscheme. Not criticizing any of the particular work you're doing, which is fine, but am I the only oS user who intensely dislikes this gharish turquoise that's invaded the desktop since 13.2? It's 99% blue and 1% green, which in my book makes it stray too far away from traditional geeko greens for comfort. And as for that wallpaper, do we really have to suffer a second turn of that in 13.3, the backdrop so mocked by the rest of the Linux community at large? It's like the ripple effect on a lily pond into which geeko has vomited a blue Plasticine dessert. Nenad, is this themeing you're talking about for Plasma 5 in 13.2 when it hits Tumbleweed, or is it for 13.3 at whatever mystical date that arrives? Hi again! No, it's plain old 13.2, nothing official, it's just a little something i'm looking to help out with, if my assistance is needed. Anyways, I for one feel nice that things have been 'spiced up' a little and that we have guidelines which could make the release look more uniform. But it's linux, thank god, so it's possible to modify it :) The 13.2 default wallpaper is in the screenshot intentionally, just to compare it with the icon gradient. As for the default, I was skeptical (I even opened a scepticism-filled thread here on the lists a year ago or so, after watching Ken and Zvezdana give their talk in Dubrovnik oSC), but the feedback I've been receiving on my side is more than welcoming for the change, design profesionality (i don't know how to phrase this in english, but to elaborate: like someone who's a good designer did it), and the uniformity. I was even asked to send the wallpaper to some Windows users, so yes, we now have officially MS Win users sporting openSUSE's default wallpaper :) I'd only love it if the font could be there too. Looking good. I'm not crazy about the turquoise theme, but I don't dislike it either. I can see why some users wouldn't pick it as their first choice, and the default 13.2 background has got to go. Plasma 5 looks really flat to me, and files like .tar.gz files, pictures, etc, all have colored icons that I don't like, whereas in KDE 4.x the artwork provides way more conveyance/eye candy. The rotate image buttons in Gwenview on Plasma 5 don't provide enough differentiation between the back and forward buttons. Here we have yet another situation of changing things just for the sake of change. I don't understand the whole "flat" and simplistic looking artwork phenomenon, but I don't like it. I would like to see some sort of tweaking tool to add a little more depth. Has anyone tried using "qtcurve" to adjust the depth?
