Writing accentuated charakters in KMail (etc.)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I posted this problem some weeks ago: Writing accentuated characters like "é" or "â" (hope this gets transported right via eMail) in the standard configuration of SuSE 8.1 is a pain in the bottom: You had to hit [Shift] + [Alt Gr] + ['] + (release [Shift]) + [E] to get "é" instead of using overstrikes just like in Windows, where you just press ['], release it and then press [e]. You know what I mean. The solution to get this easy behaviour is editing the XF86Config: In the section "InputDevice" for keyboard, delete or comment option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys". This has helped for me and I'm very happy to have this resolved. - -- Sven Ehret - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ An evil mind is a great comfort.
