Hello Friends, I am trying to import my mail from Pegasus mail that is on my Windows drive. I have copied the entire pmail directory into my home directory in Linux. I open the following menu options in Kmail: Tools --> Import --> Import Folders From Pegasus-mail( *.CNM, *.PMM, *MBX) and click Import. Kmail says the following: Counting files... Importing new mail ('.cnm')... Importing mail folders ('.pmm')... Importing 'Unix' mail folders ('.mbx')... kmail has adopted the (new) folders and messages But, I don't see anything in KMail. What am I doing incorrectly? Thank you very much. - Ram.

Try deleting the .*.index.* files. They will be recreaded when you restart kmail. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org

In your ~/mail or ~/Mail directory you will have, ie: -rw------- 1 pat users 33 2003-07-08 22:29 .drafts.index -rw-r--r-- 1 pat users 33 2003-07-08 22:29 .drafts.index.ids -rw-r--r-- 1 pat users 49 2003-05-23 15:20 .drafts.index.sorted -rw------- 1 pat users 33 2003-07-08 22:29 .inbox.index -rw-r--r-- 1 pat users 33 2003-07-08 22:29 .inbox.index.ids -rw------- 1 pat users 33 2003-07-08 22:29 .outbox.index -rw-r--r-- 1 pat users 33 2003-07-08 22:29 .outbox.index.ids -rw------- 1 pat users 1261 2003-05-23 15:20 .saved-messages.index -rw-r--r-- 1 pat users 49 2003-07-08 22:29 .saved-messages.index.ids -rw-r--r-- 1 pat users 161 2003-05-23 15:20 .saved-messages.index.sorted -rw------- 1 pat users 5109 2003-07-08 22:29 .sent-mail.index -rw-r--r-- 1 pat users 125 2003-07-08 22:29 .sent-mail.index.ids -rw-r--r-- 1 pat users 637 2003-06-25 15:28 .sent-mail.index.sorted -rw------- 1 pat users 297 2003-07-08 22:29 .trash.index -rw-r--r-- 1 pat users 37 2003-07-08 22:29 .trash.index.ids -rw------- 1 pat users 0 2003-07-08 22:29 drafts -rw------- 1 pat users 2872977 2003-07-08 22:29 inbox -rw------- 1 pat users 0 2003-07-08 22:29 outbox -rw------- 1 pat users 44039 2003-05-23 15:20 saved-messages -rw------- 1 pat users 72890 2003-07-08 22:29 sent-mail -rw------- 1 pat users 2729 2003-07-08 22:29 trash The first 15 files are 'index' files. Hello Patrick, Thanks for the advice. I was able to import from Pegasus by specifying in the Import dialogue window of Kmail the full path to the folder where the .pmm, .mbx, .cnm files were. What I was doing incorrectly before this was that I was specifying the path only until the main Pegasus folder thinking that Kmail will somehow find its way to the subfolders in which the said files exist. Thanks for your help. Best wishes, Ram.
