It's a thread safety issue, and being worked on. The thing with threading bugs is they are often intermittent. See the mail thread I referenced in the bug that I DUP'ed your report to. Thanks for reporting it though. I am treating this as another blocker for updating 12.1 to kdepim 4.8.*. It is indeed intermittent, I had one other crash, but it is workable now. Thanks for the info. Cor -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

apparently, a patch referenced in this bug report fixes this issue: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295474#c27 I don't know if it is yet part of the 4.8 branch, but could someone apply it to KDF, to test this for openSUSE as well? nevermind, as this bug was constantly nagging me, I created a branch on my own with this fix added. https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=kdelibs4&project=home%3ANicoK%3Abranches%3AKDE%3ADistro%3AFactory I build the package locally already and it is working afaik. Once all distros build in OBS, I'll create a SR to KDF. Nico -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

That would be great. I've also tested it locally, and haven't seen any more crashes (but don't have steps to reproduce, so it's hard to prove it's fixed). It is already committed to KDF and KR:48. You have wait until the repos are ready building and published. Cor -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

I updated two days ago to 4.8.2 and everything looked great in kmail until this morning when I went to send a newsletter using a group that I had created. All the contacts are gone from the groups I had created under 4.8.1 and earlier. Looks like it maybe a regression becuse it was all working fine in 4.8.1. switched to SeqMonkey again, until I solve this. i need to reliably get these newsletters out. Also found all groups are empty under Contact but personal address book has all contacts and the Group names. KDE 4.8.2 release "491" Kmail 4.8.2 Contacts 4.8.2 Kontact 4.8.2 Will report as bug as soon as I search internet and present bug reports. openSUSE 12.1 (3.1.9-1.4-desktop) KDE 4.8.2 Kontact 4.8.2 Kmail 4.8.2 Contacts 4.8.2 Installed 4.8.2 this last weekend. Yesterday I went to send to a contact group in Kmail2 and noticed all the contacts within the group and in the group under Contacts were missing. The contacts were in the groups under personal address book. Checked all other groups I had and they are gone from the groups also. Looking at .local/share/contacts the .ctg files are still there and contain pointers: Code -------------- <contactReference uid="10084"/> <contactReference uid="10218"/> <contactReference uid="10062"/> <contactReference uid="10061"/> /Code ------------- I readded names to smallest group and they contacts for that group now appear under group in both Contact and Kmail2. Deleted all the contact does not exist boxes first. It it was like creating the total list over. Has anyone else experienced this?
