import kmail account from SuSE 8.2 to 9.0
Hello list, SuSE 8.2 and 9.0 installed on the same machine. Under 8.2 Kmail is perfectly configured (Filters...) and I'd like to import this account to my 9.0. My question : Is it as simple as just copying the folder /home/user/mail from 8.2 to 9.0 ? Any hints ? best regards C. Emden

But it's safe to try it this way, as you work with copies. Hmm, to be on the safe side, you might as well configure the 9.0 kmail to _not_ delete mail on the mail server, until you are sure that all is ok with 9.0. That way you can always fetch the mails with 8.2's kmail and you won't loose a mail. Cheers, Leen

Yes, and 2 more files:
Copy: Mail .kde/share/apps/kmail .kde/share/config/kmailrc
from the 8.2 home directory to the 9.0 home directory.

You may also need to check the owner and permissions of the files you move over. Even though it has the same name. Of course, you will know that the first time you try to change something or save something.
