Folder-sensitive identity selection in KMail?
Back in Mozilla, I used to have separate inbox/outbox/drafts/etc folders for each account. So whenever I used to reply to a particular account's inbox, that account's identity would be used. Now in KMail, is it possible to tell KMail to use a particular identity when my focus is on a particular folder? I have a folder for my newsletter POP account (both inbox and sent items in that single folder) and similarly for my Linux comms (s-l-e, s-kde, s-ot etc) I have a folder called linux with inbox and sent items. Whenever I reply to something that comes on my newsletter account, I would like KMail to use the identity that I have configured with that POP account's address, and whenever I reply to something that comes on my Linux account, I would like it to use this address/identity, and elsewhere, my IMAP identity for pure personal communication. Is this possible? Thanks. -- (o- Penguin #395953 lives at http://samvit.org //\ subsisting on ancient Indian wisdom ... V_/_ and modern computing efficiency! :)

You know, it's not that we don't like helping out, but it seems you could be doing a little more exploring on your own. KMail -> Folder -> Properties -> Sender Identity I strongly recommend that you systematically explore the menus, dialogs and preferences for any new application, especially one that is as central and as complex as your mail client.
Thanks.

Absolutely right, Randall. I'm sorry and apologise. -- (o- Penguin #395953 lives at http://samvit.org //\ subsisting on ancient Indian wisdom ... V_/_ and modern computing efficiency! :)

That's OK. But it is a truism that knowledge you gain of your own effort is retained and applied better than information that is simply dispensed by another. In the long run, your effectiveness and expertise will climb much more quickly if you develop habits of resourcefulness. Randall Schulz
