I am having the same problem: the font size in the 'sidebar' and toolbar and whatever (ie everywhere except in the messages themselves) is too small for me and I am straining my eyes :-(. I asked about the font size in the thunderbird mailgroup and one kind person responded with what I quote below. The only problem with this is that while the file works OK with Firebird - with which I have no problems because the fonts there are the same as Mozilla - the fonts in Thunderbird are NOT affected by the new userChrome.css file. Not with me at least. Maybe they will work for you. Cheers. Did you solve your problem with the font size? As I said, I have a problem with them as well. Cheers. PS I just remembered something. As I was saving this reply I got a message from Mozilla stating that 'the message contains characters not found in the selected Character Coding'. This can only be caused by the characters in your (original) message. What char set are using? -- Understanding only begins with the act of perception.
Hi, i did not try it because i will install the new Thunderbird 0.2 the next days. Then i will try to solve the problem. Well, as you maybe can see in my address i am a german, and the german alphabet has same extra characters. My Name contains such a character. Maybe this is the reason for the message in your Mozilla. However i am using the western code set. Basil Chupin schrieb:

Thunderbird and Firebird are GTK2 applications. So if you use the gnome-settings-daemon fix that has been talked about quite a bit on the SuSE Linux English list then you can change all the fonts for the popdowns and what not with the Gnome2 control center. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.

Well, i think i was a bit fast with my joy. I can modify th fonts with the gnome2 control-centre. But after starting gnome-settings-daemon even the background of my desktop was put to the gnome-configuration :-(

About 10% of those of us who are using the Gnome2 settings daemon have seen this behavior. It has something to do with Nautilus drawing the background and it can be turned off, but since it's not happned to me ..I don't remember how to fix it ..ie what to turn off. You might post this to the SuSE Linux English list. I know someone has to know how to turn it off so that the settings daemon just keeps the fonts in place..etc. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.

Hm, i don't have nautilus installed
You might post this to the SuSE Linux English list.
Ok, i'll have a look in this list, but if you remember how to solve the problem please let me know mfg
