NM: Ximean Evolution . How to backup address book and mailbox ??
Hi there I need to share a common addressbook between two machines The Idea is to make a backup of the addressbook on one machine and feed the other machine with this data Unfortunatly they dont have a export feature which make this a problem in the event of hardware failure or hardware changes (removable drives) Does any one know which files I need to backup ? Does any one know how to change the default folder to another so you could restore from saved files in another folder? I have sent them numerous emails but they get ignored With kind regards Nick 2-9032 Visit my Java page in the Javalani portal at: http://www.javalani.co.za/javalani/Members/nickm/ -----Original Message----- From: H du Plooy [mailto:h_a_n_s@mweb.co.za] Sent: 20 June, 2004 12:33 To: suse-kde@suse.com Subject: Re: [suse-kde] "Quicklaunch" icon size On Sunday 20 June 2004 02:32, Stephen Boddy wrote:

Also, I have six virtual desktops. The desktop pager shows me two rows of three desktops. If I want to change this to, say, nine desktops, is there a way to get the pager to show three rows of three?
Right click on kicker, add->applet->quick launcher
If it was a snake it would have bitten me! Thanks Steve! Nick You should have an "evolution" directory in your $HOME, which contains all your data, addresses, mail, filters, etc. that you should need to move from one setup to another. I thought evolution had an export feature though, but as you mention, it does not. Maybe the 1.5/1.6 version will contain such a feature. Hi there I need to share a common addressbook between two machines <snip> Why do you not set up a LDAP server which you can use to share the addressbook/contacts over as many computers as you wish there is even a evolution scheme for LDAP.

its all there in $HOME/evolution address mail settings filters. tar gz the lot burn to cd and take to next box. Likely someone here has an rsynch(sp?) script to keep two machines synchronised. CWSIV
